# Staking $COOKIE

Staking $COOKIE is available on BNB and BASE, and grants you:

#### Staking Pools

There are 4 active pools on both BNB and BASE, each with a different stake duration. When you stake your $COOKIE, it’s locked in the smart contract for the duration of the chosen pool. Once the period finishes, your $COOKIE is available to claim back instantly.

To be eligible for the staking benefits, you must be actively staking in one of the pools – $COOKIE available to claim is unlocked and therefore will not be included in staking snapshots.

If you’re staking $COOKIE in one of the pools and add more $COOKIE to the same pool, the staking period will restart for the entire stake – meaning all your $COOKIE will get unlocked at the same time.

Once you stake in one of the pools, there is no way to release the tokens before the pool’s staking period ends.

#### Cookie Points

The Cookie Points are accumulated based on the combination of two factors:

**1) The amount of $COOKIE you are staking.** *1 $COOKIE = 1 point*

**2) The duration of a staking pool in which you are staking.** *A pool’s duration determines a multiplier for your Cookie Points accumulated from the amount staked.*

*The multiplier for every staking pool is as follows:*

| 30 days       | 1x                       |
| 90 days       | 2x                       |
| 180 days      | 3x                       |
| 365 days      | 5x                       |

#### **Staking Tiers**

The number of Cookie Points you accumulate places you in one of five farming tiers: Diamond, Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze.

Your farming tier determines:

2. **How much you can contribute to the farming pool, which determines the amount of airdrop you will receive**

   *Most campaign projects set aside 10-20% of the reward pool to $COOKIE stakers which is distributed via Multi-Airdrop Farming. Staking $COOKIE in any of the tiers gives you access.*

#### How to stake $COOKIE?

1. [Go to the Cookie Staking Portal.](https://www.cookie.community/?utm_source=docs\&utm_medium=community\&utm_campaign=stake)
2. Click "Connect Wallet". Make sure you've got $COOKIE and gas on either BNB Chain or BASE.
3. Select your preferred wallet.
4. Click “Stake” and enter the amount of $COOKIE tokens you wish to stake. Then click "Approve" to confirm the maximum amount you are willing to spend in the Cookie Staking Portal. You can always increase the spending cap later.
5. Click “Confirm” and follow the instructions in your wallet.

TL;DR

Staking $COOKIE gives you:

* access to airdrops from projects running campaigns with Cookie (via Multi-Airdrop Farming)
* capital boosts in Capital Mindshare Campaigns

Staking tiers determine:

* how much you can farm in MAF
* how big is your boost

The more $COOKIE and the longer you stake, the more Cookie Points you get = the higher staking tier you’re in.

#### **FAQ**

1. I get an error message when trying to stake.
   * Check if the pool you’re trying to stake in is not full.
   * Check if you have enough gas in your wallet.
   * Check if you connected the correct wallet to the site.
2. I can’t unstake.
   * Check if your staking period ended.
   * Check if your wallet is connected to the correct network (BNB or BASE).
   * Check if you have enough gas in your wallet.
3. I don’t see my stake.
   * Check if you have the correct wallet connected to the site.
4. I staked by mistake. Can I get my $COOKIE back?
   * Unfortunately no. Once the tokens are locked in the smart contract, there is no way to release them before the pool’s duration ends.
